About Almond
Pavement care for Almond properties
Almond began when Jacob Meyers, from the Mohawk Valley in New York, started a stagecoach and freight route between Berlin and Stevens Point. He needed a stop for the horses, so he set up a barn and inn on the site. A treaty with the Menominee in 1848 opened the area to settlement, and the post office opened on July 8, 1850, at the stagecoach stop. Almond was incorporated in 1905.
Asphalt wears down from sun, water and winter weather. Filling cracks early keeps water out of the base, and a protective coat slows the wear. A fresh sealcoat every two to three years suits most driveways.
