About Wonewoc

Pavement care for Wonewoc properties

The name is of Indigenous origin, probably meaning howling hills. George and Lucinda Willard first settled the area in 1851, and the town became a village in 1878. Once the railroad was built, growth exploded, and it halted when the railroad era ended. The surrounding landscape is unglaciated, with jagged bluffs, and the Wonewoc Formation of sandstone was first described here and named for the village.

A quiet village among bluffs has hillside driveways and older lots. Slope and runoff are the issues to watch, since water that runs across a driveway gets into every crack.

What we do

Services for Wonewoc homes and businesses

A Wonewoc driveway usually needs a short list of things done in the right order: repair, fill, seal. We walk the surface with you and write down what it actually needs. A lot in Wonewoc that carries daily traffic wears from the entrances first. We fix potholes and patches, fill cracks, seal the surface and restripe, and plan the order so one visit does as much as possible.

Freeze and thaw cycles are hard on asphalt here. Sealcoat protects the surface from water, sun and weather, and crack filling handles the openings the sealer cannot bridge. Sealer needs dry pavement and mild weather to cure, so we plan each job around the forecast and tell you how long to keep cars off.
