About Bancroft
Pavement care for Bancroft properties
It was named for Warren Gamaliel Bancroft, who served in the 42nd Wisconsin Regiment in the Civil War and later became pastor of the Oshkosh Methodist Church, and it is also the namesake of Warren Gamaliel Bancroft Winnipeg Harding, better known as President Warren G. Harding. A post office opened here on May 17, 1876. Bancroft sits on County Road W at exit 143 of the interstate. The land is mostly flat, but two bluffs rise above it: Mosquito Bluff, now split by Harding Road, and The Ledge, which is visible from the interstate. The 2020 census counted 526 residents.
An interstate exit community has a few roadside businesses and homes on flat ground. Flat land drains slowly, so low spots and cracks that hold water are the first things we repair.

What we do
Services for Bancroft homes and businesses
Most calls from Bancroft are for driveways: a first or repeat sealcoat, crack filling before it, a patch where an edge has broken down, or a gravel drive that needs fresh material and grading. For businesses in Bancroft we handle the whole lot together: repairs, crack filling, sealcoating and fresh line striping, so stalls, fire lanes and crosswalks look right once the work is done.
- Asphalt sealcoating
- Crack filling
- Line striping
- Pothole repair
- Patch work
- Gravel driveway installation
- Asphalt maintenance
- Parking lot maintenance
Good timing matters: pavement has to be clean, dry and above the temperature the sealer calls for. We pick the day and talk through it with you before we start. Wisconsin winters push water into every crack, and freezing makes it worse. Filling cracks and sealing the surface before the cold sets in gives that water fewer ways in.
Questions
Common questions in Bancroft
Do you serve Portage County communities like Bancroft?
Yes. Call 608-548-1169 for a free estimate.
How often should I reseal my asphalt?
Most driveways do best with a fresh sealcoat every two to three years. Parking lots with heavier traffic may need attention sooner. We look at the surface and tell you where it stands.
What do I need to do before you come?
Keep cars off the area on the day, and tell us about anything we should know, like sprinklers or a gate. We go over the rest when we confirm the day.
