Asphalt sealcoating in Port Edwards, WI

Port Edwards is a Wood County village on the Wisconsin River that grew up around a mill.

About Port Edwards

Pavement care for Port Edwards properties

The settlement formed around a sawmill built about 1829 and was called Frenchtown until 1869, when it was renamed for mill owner John Edwards. His company converted the sawmill into a paper mill in 1896. The village incorporated in 1902 and the mill shut down in 2008. Today the village keeps a cluster of 1890s to 1940s homes that have been preserved and refurbished.

Employer lots and the older streets of mill-era homes make up most of the work. Driveways beside well-kept older houses are worth keeping sealed, since cracks that open up in an old surface spread quickly.

What we do

Services for Port Edwards homes and businesses

For homes in Port Edwards we start with the driveway as it is. Cracks get filled with hot-pour rubberized sealant, low spots and potholes get repaired, and then the surface gets its protective coat. A lot in Port Edwards that carries daily traffic wears from the entrances first. We fix potholes and patches, fill cracks, seal the surface and restripe, and plan the order so one visit does as much as possible.

Good timing matters: pavement has to be clean, dry and above the temperature the sealer calls for. We pick the day and talk through it with you before we start. Wisconsin winters push water into every crack, and freezing makes it worse. Filling cracks and sealing the surface before the cold sets in gives that water fewer ways in.

Questions

Common questions in Port Edwards

Can you repair older driveways in Port Edwards?

Yes. We patch broken sections, fill cracks with hot-pour sealant and finish with a protective coat. Call for a free estimate.

How often should I reseal my asphalt?

Most driveways do best with a fresh sealcoat every two to three years. Parking lots with heavier traffic may need attention sooner. We look at the surface and tell you where it stands.

What do I need to do before you come?

Keep cars off the area on the day, and tell us about anything we should know, like sprinklers or a gate. We go over the rest when we confirm the day.
