About Coloma

Pavement care for Coloma properties

John Drake and a man named Stowe first settled the area in 1849. By 1875 it was called Ross Corners after the local postmaster. When a railroad between Stevens Point and Portage was built to the east, the post office moved to the station there, called Coloma Station, and Ross Corners became Coloma Corners. Glover Bluff crater, a meteor crater, lies south of the village. The 2020 census counted 448 residents.

A small village on the road to the lakes and campgrounds has a few business lots and homes with their own driveways, many on sandy ground.

What we do

Services for Coloma homes and businesses

A Coloma driveway usually needs a short list of things done in the right order: repair, fill, seal. We walk the surface with you and write down what it actually needs. A lot in Coloma that carries daily traffic wears from the entrances first. We fix potholes and patches, fill cracks, seal the surface and restripe, and plan the order so one visit does as much as possible.

Sun and weather wear the surface down over time, which is why most driveways do best with a fresh coat every two to three years. Freeze and thaw cycles are hard on asphalt here. Sealcoat protects the surface from water, sun and weather, and crack filling handles the openings the sealer cannot bridge.

Do you work in Waushara County villages like Coloma?

Yes. Call 608-548-1169 and we will set up a free estimate.

How often should I reseal my asphalt?

Most driveways do best with a fresh sealcoat every two to three years. Parking lots with heavier traffic may need attention sooner. We look at the surface and tell you where it stands.

What do I need to do before you come?

Keep cars off the area on the day, and tell us about anything we should know, like sprinklers or a gate. We go over the rest when we confirm the day.
