About Cashton

Pavement care for Cashton properties

The settlement began in 1854 when Thompson Hazen opened an inn at a bend in the stagecoach road between Prairie du Chien and Black River Falls, and the place was called Hazen's Corners. In 1879 the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad built a branch line from Sparta to Viroqua, and merchant William H. H. Cash led construction of a depot, had the village platted and renamed it Cashton. Amish farmers began arriving in the late 1960s. The economy is tied to agriculture, and the organic cooperative Organic Valley employs more than 275 people at its Cashton offices and distribution center. The 2020 census counted 1,158 residents.

Distribution and office sites bring employee and truck lots, while farm properties around the village have long driveways. Lots that carry trucks wear fastest at the entrances.

What we do

Services for Cashton homes and businesses

A Cashton driveway usually needs a short list of things done in the right order: repair, fill, seal. We walk the surface with you and write down what it actually needs. A lot in Cashton that carries daily traffic wears from the entrances first. We fix potholes and patches, fill cracks, seal the surface and restripe, and plan the order so one visit does as much as possible.

Wisconsin winters push water into every crack, and freezing makes it worse. Filling cracks and sealing the surface before the cold sets in gives that water fewer ways in. Freeze and thaw cycles are hard on asphalt here. Sealcoat protects the surface from water, sun and weather, and crack filling handles the openings the sealer cannot bridge.

Questions

Common questions in Cashton

Do you work on employer and distribution lots near Cashton?

Yes. Employee parking, truck areas and business lots are part of commercial asphalt maintenance, and we can estimate sealcoating, crack filling and striping together.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. Estimates are free. Use the form or call 608-548-1169 and tell us about your property.

How often should I reseal my asphalt?

Most driveways do best with a fresh sealcoat every two to three years. Parking lots with heavier traffic may need attention sooner. We look at the surface and tell you where it stands.
