About Arlington

Pavement care for Arlington properties

The area was first settled in 1838, and the village was platted in 1871 by David Bullen and Mrs. Sarah Pierce, who owned all the land that became the village. The first building went up that summer, built by David Bullen's son Winslow. Arlington has a warm-summer humid continental climate. The hottest temperature recorded there was 103 degrees Fahrenheit in July 2012, and the coldest was minus 36 on January 18, 1994. The 2020 census counted 844 residents.

That range of temperature is hard on any surface. Asphalt swells in summer heat and cracks in deep cold, and water finds the cracks, which is why we fill them before sealcoating. Homes and small business lots here get the same careful steps.

What we do

Services for Arlington homes and businesses

A Arlington driveway usually needs a short list of things done in the right order: repair, fill, seal. We walk the surface with you and write down what it actually needs. Property managers and owners in Arlington can ask for sealcoating, crack filling, striping and pothole repair on one estimate, with work scheduled to keep your lot open as much as we can.

Freeze and thaw cycles are hard on asphalt here. Sealcoat protects the surface from water, sun and weather, and crack filling handles the openings the sealer cannot bridge. Wisconsin winters push water into every crack, and freezing makes it worse. Filling cracks and sealing the surface before the cold sets in gives that water fewer ways in.

Questions

Common questions in Arlington

Why does the weather matter for sealcoating in Arlington?

Heat softens asphalt and deep cold contracts and cracks it. Sealing the surface and filling cracks helps keep water from working in.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. Estimates are free. Use the form or call 608-548-1169 and tell us about your property.

How often should I reseal my asphalt?

Most driveways do best with a fresh sealcoat every two to three years. Parking lots with heavier traffic may need attention sooner. We look at the surface and tell you where it stands.
